Through the combined efforts of volunteer physicians and other health-care professionals, as well as schools, hospitals, and all faith communities, Shepherd’s Hope healthcare centers are able to provide, free, quality, non-emergency medical care to those in need. Founded in 1996 to offer medical assistance to the uninsured and those who don’t qualify for government programs, Shepherd’s Hope also depends upon volunteers from all walks of life to handle non-medical tasks such as:
- Reception
- Medical records
- Healthcare Center set-up
- Spiritual care
- Reaching out to the community
- Language interpretation
- Volunteer scheduling, training and eligibility
With ten centers in the Orlando area, this organization is a sterling example of compassionate volunteerism in action. People interested in becoming part of Shepherd’s Hope’s team can contact the Sangha member below and/or access the website address above and then click on the Volunteer box.
